Kudawa is a farming village at the edge of the reserve. Families grow tea, spices and fruit on small plots, and many have worked with the forest for generations.
An easy walk takes you past home gardens and tea bushes, with a stop to see how leaf is plucked and dried. Birds come too: the gardens are full of barbets, parakeets and flowerpeckers.
