A family-run lodge above the river, a short walk from Sri Lanka’s ancient rainforest. Your gateway to the birds of Sinharaja.
Birders Lodge sits on Pethiyakanda Road in Kudawa, above the river and a short walk from the main entrance to Sinharaja. Since 2025 a new family has been caring for the lodge, refreshing the rooms and welcoming guests as friends.
Days start with coffee on the deck and birdsong from the canopy; they end with home-cooked rice and curry and stories from the trail.
“This is not simply a place to stay in Sri Lanka. It is a base from which to experience the birds, rainforest and natural heritage of Sinharaja.”
